Coven of Cythrawl, 

We are a magical society of like-minded individuals that discusses and investigates various occult and magickal doctrines from around the world in both physical meetings and sometimes on-line.  We also have various legitimate working Covens in Traditional and Craft Witchcraft (Wicca) for the first time in Asia.

We are the only Approved Coven with Fully Recognized Initiatory Lineages & Historical Heritages that we know of in Asia at the present time.

We have the full support of the Mother Covens in "hiving-off " to our present Working Covens here in Singapore (and any others to come) and their heartfelt best wishes in our continued formation and work.  We also have the full support of the Largest and Oldest International Druid Organizations in the world today, (OBOD), (Order of Bards, Ovates & Druids), in setting up an official Seed Grove.  Members from all of these seed groups here are able to formally meet and participate in rites and rituals and are of course welcome to a few of our Mother Temples and Groves in many countries of the world.

Our main Research Group also practically studies other pragmatic magickal  sciences, including - Wicca and Witchcraft, Chaos Magic, Druidism, Voodoo and Chinese Taoist Sciences) and even looks into the newest forms of hypnosis and Alpha Meditation as part of its large curriculum.

Besides magick and ritual being investigated, some specific yoga exercises have been taken from ancient Frisian, Indian and Taoist practices and tried out by Research Members which not only work in joining mind and body in powerful unions, but have the added side benefits in making the practitioner loose excess weight, look fitter and more dynamic than ever before.   Relaxation techniques incorporated with these special techniques have also lowered blood pressure and the levels of stress chemicals in the body's system.  Creative visualization enhances concentration in both young and old and the inner processes are energized in maintaining perfect health and allaying debilitating sickness.

Witches and wise shamans have never acknowledged the limitations of the sensory world; they have always lived, moved and had their very being within the domain where the subtle and magickal forces, (now called extra sensory) operate.  Once a person has had even one of these experiences of contacting forces beyond the world form, he or she is never, ever the same again, and will never again be in bondage to it.  After reading this, if you think that you are in agreement with our aims and ethos, then contact us for more information.

The First Approved Coven with Fully Recognized Initiatory Lineages for practitioners in Asia

The arts of Traditional Witchcraft, which flourished amongst our Pagan ancestors in ancient Europe & other magickal practices from places like South America and China, have been preserved, researched and passed on to the followers of the Research Coven, "Cythrawl Research Group" in association with the Coven of Cythrawl, a Wiccan Craft magical order of Initiates dedicated to the training, investigation and the working of practical arcane magickal sciences of nature.

The practice of Magick, Sorcery, Shamanism, Druidry and Witchcraft allows one to develop abilities that transcend the mundane rules of existence, and to enter realms only dreamed of by other folk.  This is why the Christian Church and other powerful religious groups around the world was always so opposed to this Occult knowledge, and viciously persecuted all of its users.

Thousands upon thousands of people around the world are dedicated, or are initiates of the "Inner Way" nowadays.  Few of those who take their arts seriously will also ever advertise the fact.  They live their lives, as you yourselves might do, in two parts, with one face for the world to see and the other, inner, hidden face always turned towards the secret starlight.  They have learned the power of silence, of the kept word and unbroken promises.  They have seen things and experienced things which few ordinary people could never comprehend or credit as being true.  They have entered the Otherworld and returned safely many times.  They have mixed with powerful forces, woven magickal spells and brought about changes in the fabric of the world in which they live......... and still they keep silent, as it should be.

Becoming dedicated is an early step.  It is a genuine request for guidance, and an attempt on a personal level to connect with the Great Forces of the universe, and to gain communion with the Ancient Powers of the land.

Today, many people have lost contact with the spiritual and magickal aspects of their lives, a loss that is not usually felt, except by those who are already seeking the truth(s) perhaps.  Many of these people then fall prey to all kinds of offered religious dogma, or unscrupulous folk, selling some 'philosophy' or 'cult' to the unwary for a fat sum of money.  Many people have also now come to see that material comfort, even great wealth, does not totally fulfill them, and that there is sometimes a 'great longing' for something which cannot be defined, so is all the harder to seek out.  Carl Yung, (the great psychologist), realized the power of this inner yearning, making the religious/spiritual impulse as important as the basic sexual impulse, as one of the great underlying drives which direct our actions.  Certainly food for thought.......

The concept of a recognized "lineage" is sometimes important in Occultism, and basically means the ability to trace one’s Initiatory line back, without a break, to a point in history that is creditable and where possible, from a magical tradition that has existed since time immemorial.  There are many questionable groups and individuals today who have no such lineage, and therefore tend to play down its importance.  However, in saying this, we must also point out that there are many creditable solo practitioners and individuals, plus smaller groups that are every bit as proficient and dedicated as the so-called recognized groups around the world and should really be recognized in their own right, without such recognized lineages.  (After all we all had to start sometime).  This is the freedom of magick and real witchcraft, which holds no such dogma in its true heart!  For those who are interested though, the Coven of Cythrawl can actually trace long direct heritages back in Britain and are termed as officially "hiving off" to a full working and recognized Coven here in Asia, therefore this question and/or dispute will never arise with us.

Many people are drawn, these days, to the idea of witchcraft, shamanism and magick.  Some are seeking religious freedom, while others are interested in learning to use magickal powers.  Many are interested in reawakening the ancient links with out Mother Earth, or seek particular healing of both body and spirit.

Some of these people may wish to practice alone and try to find their roots and connections with nature and the universe.  They might follow the patterns of the sun and the moon, and feel the changing energies directly.  Others may wish to be part of a coven, to share ceremonies and regular meetings with like-minded people and wish to reunite with the Ancient Powers by raising large amounts of energy within such a group.  It's entirely up to you! Both solo members and all members of a recognized coven will all be properly taught in a specially scheduled and specific way (as handed down from the Mother Covens) in the old arts and will be advised by a personal teacher in tapping into and utilizing this awesome natural power.  You may find more information from the Questions & Answers Page (Q & A) to help in matters not discussed here.

The druid, shaman, witch and magician of today holds everything in the land sacred, unified and in harmony, and considers themselves apart of it.  This reflects the ancient wisdom and belief that everything in life is linked together with interwoven patterns of energy, which they tap into directly, or subtly, and enter into Otherworlds, or make changes according to one's will.  It is not so much on how to raise the necessary energy to affect such things, but in how to how to direct and use that energy effectively which is the key to successful magick.  It will be infinitely more easy to accomplish this within a working group, following correct lessons, guidelines and rituals that have been past down through the ages.  Ritual is magick and energy in action and only comes from knowing exactly how.

The practitioners of  Druidism and Witchcraft often take energy from living things: trees, plants, animals, humans, and the Earth Herself.  This allows the sorcery to succeed, by ensuring an infusion of the life-force into all the entities summoned and created.  Yet at other times energy is returned to those entities that have given it, and these are in no way harmed by the process.  Rather, the Magician and Mother Nature enter into a symbiotic relationship from which both benefit.  Ancient Powers are often evoked, or invoked, and journeys to "inner worlds" take place, where many strange and powerful forces exist.  Magick is the science and art of using and sometimes controlling the secret forces of nature and the science and art of causing change to occur in conformity with one's will.

This magickal ability, and many others, will be developed as the initiate passes through the various levels of training within the research group of the Coven of Cythrawl.  One may then wish to expand into another Coven of recognized linage in one of the many forms of magickal arts, whether it be Wiccan Witchcraft, Druidism, Chaos Magick, Shamanism, South American Voodoo, Chinese Taoist magick, or the ancient Traditional Witchcraft of Europe.

In relation to ancient Traditional Witchcraft, the Ordo Anno Mundi, (OAM), a magical society from Britain offers full training in the Ophidian (Serpent-venerating) Traditional Craft, and has an official ancient linage and initiation structure.  This Ophidian Traditional Craft has been around for a very long time!  One of its magical texts, the "Oera Linda Book", has sections that date back more than four thousand years!  All followers in this form of Traditional Witchcraft would be introduced to, and able to study this book, after official initiation into OAM.  The OAM has members in all areas of the British Isles, and some overseas, including an authorized hive coven here in Singapore, from the main Coven in Britain.

The Coven of Cythrawl also has Wiccan Covens that traces a long direct Wiccan Craft (Witchcraft) heritage back to Britain, (our original "Mother" linage coven was formed in 1967, after hiving off from their own Mother Coven of Gardnerian Wiccan Witchcraft),  and we now have, for the first time ever, hived a limited number of covens here in Asia for such dedicated members.  Of course, this form of witchcraft everywhere in the world is always extremely "tight-knitted" and strictly only for those that were found worthy of initiation, after correct petitioning & being accepted by the respective Coven(s)).  Each level & degree of initiation, as in Traditional Witchcraft, has certain "secret knowledge" imparted to the initiate, when they have proven worthy and proficient in the previous workings and teachings only.

Persons interested in Druidism can join the most Ancient Group of Druids on the earth today (OBOD) and participate in rituals and rites right here in Singapore, once initiated into the order.  As an officially "hived off Grove" you will have the benefit in actual physical workings right here in the region and of course, you will be joining thousands of like-minded individuals around the world and would have complete access to participate in those rituals and activities in other countries too.

Other Magickal sciences are investigated and fully worked, such as Chaos Magic, (whom can be  associated with through membership with the International Order of AutonomatriX - (The AX is less of an "order" and more of an information network, which has shown to be more useful to someone exploring Chaos Magic than the more traditional forms.)  Initiation and guidelines for efficacious workings are given to coven members to investigate on their own, or in small like-minded groups.

The Taoist Magic of "MAO-SAN" is discussed, while mentioning that the Coven has in hand; direct first hand, copies of 100 year old handwritten manuscripts and charms, of ancient Chinese Mao-San heritage, (themselves copied from copies going back to time immemorial).  We received our copies from the former full time Master of Mao-San Magic in Sarawak, East Malaysia.  When this man passed away well into his nineties, he did not pass on his vast knowledge to his sons, as his own father had to him and therefore, this linage and knowledge, alas, died with him.  He was very afraid of misuse in this modern day and age and decided that this particular tradition, as passed-on to him from many hundreds of years, would cease to exist.  This ancient science is also not taught or practiced within our coven, (because of the great power that can be misused), but rather discussed by small groups or "inner circle" members of the coven for its informational purposes and it's similarities/differences to other known functional and efficient forms of magical workings from around the world.

When living in South America, the original Coven of Cythrawl High Priest was given access to heretofore undocumented and secret workings of a Voodoo Cult in Brazil, (called Makumba).  This information is discussed and investigated in the research Group's regular lessons and meetings, where no ceremony, or ritual is being carried out.

This Web Site was designed to introduce newcomers to the Occult and this mysterious subject and perhaps cater to those who wish to petition for membership to the Research Group.  The web will also have many "links", as it proceeds to grow, to what we believe, are the more worthy web pages on such related subjects, and to web sites to whom we have a bond or affinity with.  We will also attempt one day, to introduce a discussion group,  as well as pages of 'write-ups' on new topics and Pagan information from around the world.

This whole package should be of interest to Asian and/or expatriate residents and any other interested parties who wish to talk, or get together to discuss and practice these ancient arts, or perhaps, just keep in touch with east & west updates accordingly.  It allows for brothers and sisters from our Coven to travel around the world and meet our linage Mother Covens and Groves and also for those brothers and sisters from around the world who are visiting Asia, to contact like-minded initiates living here at this time, giving a sort of Asian staging post for those travelers and/or residents living close to Singapore, (the present home of the hived Coven of Cythrawl).  You may find more information from the Questions & Answers Page (Q & A) to help in matters not discussed here.
